A Photographer’s Greatest Tool

This is my submission for the Single Frame Stories Challenge: Illumination.

Honour MacMillan wrote a piece that made me ponder what I do here. She made Pancake over at Renoobed ponder, as well.

I decided that I am indeed a photographer. However, my pieces aren’t really photographs. Sure, I take snapshots and pics as I tool around SL, but the shots that I share are far more than a snapshot. They’re a story, a piece, a work of art. I take photographs inworld, but I also create these works of art, using photography as a tool.

Maybe it’s because my mom’s an artist that I have no issue calling my work art. I know what a work of art feels like. If anyone cares to poo poo what I do, what Honour does, or what any virtual world artist does- let them. Personally, I don’t require validation from boneheads.

I just require the release that comes from creation.
